What is SurreyCommunity.info?
SurreyCommunity.info is a website that supports community, voluntary and non-profit organisations in Surrey.
We do this in two ways:
- Eligible groups can be listed in our directory.
- Eligible groups can register with us and set up a free website.
Who can use SurreyCommunity.info?
Anyone can use our directory to search for information about groups and organisations in Surrey.
Registering with Surrey Community.info as an individual allows you to
- join websites that have been created with SurreyCommunity.info and participate in their online activities such as discussion forums and surveys
- if you are eligible, you can apply to create a free website for your organisation. You can find out more about applying on our page about our free websites and directory.
Can you list my organisation in your directory?
We list community, voluntary and non-profit groups providing services to people in Surrey. Currently our directory can only list groups with a SurreyCommunity.info website or groups that already have a website elsewhere.
If you don't already have a website but are prepared to create a site with at least one page (this could just include a brief description of your group and your contact details) then we can list you. Apply for a website with us and make sure that you fill out all of the details about your organisation on the application form. When you have completed it, your website will automatically consist of a single page containing the information that you provided in your application.
If your group already has its own website elsewhere, it is just as easy. Apply for a website with us and during the application process you will be asked if you want to use your own website instead. When your application is complete, your SurreyCommunity website will include a short description of your group (provided by you) and will redirect visitors to your existing website.
In both cases you will still be expected to abide by our terms and conditions and if your organisation's details change you must update your SurreyCommunity page with the new details.
For more details, see our page about applying for a website.
Can you send me information about groups or organisations in Surrey?
Unfortunately, we aren't able to send out details of groups or organisations. You may find what you are looking for by browsing our directory or you could contact your local library.
